Wonka: Sweet Escape

The Challenge :

To support the holiday theatrical release of Wonka by creating a visually immersive, family-friendly pop-up experience that would bring the imagination of Willy Wonka to life during the busiest retail period of the year, while driving sustained foot traffic, social sharing, and cultural buzz.

Our Approach :

The strategy focused on translating the whimsical world of Wonka into a tangible, walk-through environment that felt magical, premium, and approachable for all ages. By placing the activation in a high-traffic retail destination during peak holiday shopping, the experience was designed to capture casual mall traffic while rewarding fans with a richly detailed, photo-worthy escape from the everyday.

Longevity was a key consideration — the build needed to remain visually impactful, operationally sound, and engaging across an extended holiday run.

Execution :

Reignite designed, fabricated, and produced Wonka’s Sweet Escape, transforming a central mall location into a playful, film-inspired environment anchored by a larger-than-life chocolate cherry tree and surrounded by themed décor, interactive photo moments, and layered brand storytelling.

Impact :

Wonka’s Sweet Escape quickly became a seasonal destination, drawing consistent crowds and encouraging organic social sharing throughout its run. Guests engaged with the environment, captured memorable moments, and returned with friends and family, helping sustain excitement for the film well beyond opening weekend.

The activation stood out amid crowded holiday retail programming, reinforcing Wonka as a must-see family release during the festive period.
